Kathleen Cifelli was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised the eldest of 8
siblings in New Jersey. She spent her teen years in the Trenton
neighborhood made famous by author Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels.
A graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Ms. Cifelli worked as a
Registered Nurse at St. Francis and, after marrying Nick Cifelli, George
Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Since 1968, Kathleen
has been on what the family refers to as” the world’s longest maternity leave
“when their only daughter, Laura was born.
Kathleen and Nick moved to Cape Coral from Flemington, NJ in 1994. Nick is
a physician at the Ft. Myers VA Clinic. Laura is a librarian with the Lee
County Library System and an R.N., like her mother. Kathleen has loved
Cape Coral ever since her first visit in 1985. Driving over the Cape Coral
Bridge reminds her of the bridges leading to the Jersey Shore Points.
In addition to painting, Kathleen enjoys
creating glass bead eyeglass chains, crochet, and cake decorating. An
avid reader and lifelong supporter of public libraries, Kathleen has recently
discovered her many talents through books and classes. She believes it is
never too late to learn who you could be.
She has always told her daughter, “Every day is a day in your life and there are
no refunds.” Believe it!
